Neurosomatic Energy Coaching
Sheila Russell · Sacred Ways of Healing
I help women alchemize their trauma and return to themselves — using practical tools drawn from energy work, applied neurology, and movement. Joy isn't a destination. It's how we move.
"Is this it?" keeps you up at night. And you can't make it leave you alone.
You've done the self-help. The apps, the books, the retreats. They genuinely helped. And then life happened again.
You want to feel yourself — not manage yourself, not optimize yourself. Feel yourself.
You're going through a threshold: postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, reinvention. You want it to be a rite of passage, not something you just push through.
I'm Sheila Russell: somatic energy healer, dancer, movement maker, and space holder. I'm also a registered nurse with a Master's in Nursing and 14+ years in maternal-child health. That background informs how deeply I understand the body. But this work is coaching and energy medicine, not clinical care. I don't give medical advice. Ever. What I offer is something different.
I've spent my life studying what it means to help people return to themselves. Through labor and delivery and postpartum work, dance performance, energy medicine, and years on my own healing journey, I came to understand something simple: the tools have to live in you. Not in a practitioner. Not in a perfect circumstance. They have to be yours.
That's what this work is. Science is just proving what spirit has always known.
The seed already has everything it needs to become what it already is, even its scar, the hilum, the small mark where it was once attached to where it came from, isn't damage. It's proof of connection. Proof it was held. In this session we name what's here, your intentions, your resources, the shape of you before you're even planted. Nothing has to happen yet. You arrive with what you're carrying, and that includes every mark. That's enough.
The dark isn't empty, it's sacred. This is remembering time and dream time. The seed doesn't need the soil to feed it; it already carries everything it will ever need within itself. What the soil gives is protection, a held darkness where nothing has to happen yet. You're allowed to simply be, to remember what you've always carried. The work nobody sees is still being done in you, not just by you. This is where safety gets built.
Curiouser and curiouser. The shell cracks open, the process is working. The seed roots down and the shoot stretches up. Only, the seed doesn't know yet which way is up and which way is down. It just begins reaching in both directions at once. It's learning, sensing, exploring. Not judging, again, it's just being.
Surfacing isn't the shoot leaving the root behind. It's continuing the journey, receiving the gifts from both the dark and the light. Deeper roots and taller shoots. Continued growth in both directions. This is access to the wisdom of the darkness and the daylight, creating more understanding of yourself with every inch you grow in either direction.
Not an ending. A recognition. Home was always here. The seed's resources become the plant. Nothing is abandoned, only transformed. This is how you learn to recognize your own energy. You leave with gifts that were always yours. You just needed support remembering how to use them. Now you carry that yourself.
I trust that my trauma is going to show up.
I want to learn to trust that my joy will show up as well.

Cristina B.My first session was a relief and a journey to a place I rarely talked about in all my years of counseling, groups, and sister circles. I remembered going home and taking a nap afterwards — not because I was checking out, but because my body allowed itself to go there and rest.
YvetteSheila's gift to me was the recognition of my body's survival patterns that no longer serve me — helping me find meaning in my work, all while being open and compassionate through very delicate conversation.
Michelle L.She creates a safe space where I feel comfortable discussing my ideas and concerns, no matter how big or small. Whether it's navigating complex emotions or working through painful situations, her strategies equipped me with the tools I ultimately need to move forward.
